DevSecOps Lead (Contract) 6-Month Contract | Insurance Sector | Azure Environment We are recruiting a DevSecOps Lead for a 6-month contract with a leading insurance organisation. This role is ideal for someone who excels at driving cultural change, influencing stakeholders, and embedding DevSecOps ways of working rather than purely delivering hands-on engineering. The core tooling and platforms are already in place. The focus now is on mindset, adoption, and acceleration across technology and business teams. The Opportunity As DevSecOps Lead, you will work across engineering, security, and business stakeholders to: Embed DevSecOps principles into delivery practices Drive adoption of secure, automated, and AI-enabled workflows Act as a trusted advisor to senior stakeholders Influence teams to shift from traditional delivery models to modern, secure DevOps practices This is not a pure hands-on role . While a solid DevOps background is essential, success in this position depends on leadership, communication, and the ability to bring people on the journey. Role Focus 40% Stakeholder Management & Influence Engage with business leaders, engineering managers, security teams, and delivery leads Translate DevSecOps concepts into business value Drive alignment, buy-in, and behavioural change 40% AI & Automation Enablement Identify opportunities to leverage AI and automation within DevSecOps pipelines Guide teams on adopting intelligent automation to improve security, quality, and speed Champion continuous improvement through data-driven insights 20% DevOps & Security Practices Provide leadership and direction on DevSecOps standards and best practices Support teams using Azure, Azure DevOps, and associated tooling Ensure security is embedded early and consistently across the SDLC Key Responsibilities Lead the adoption of DevSecOps across multiple teams Act as a bridge between technology and the business Define and communicate DevSecOps principles, guardrails, and success measures Coach and mentor teams to improve maturity and autonomy Influence without authority in a complex, regulated environment Experience & Skills Required Proven experience in a DevSecOps, DevOps Lead, or similar transformation-focused role Strong background in Azure and Azure DevOps environments Demonstrated success driving cultural and behavioural change Experience working with AI-driven automation or intelligent tooling in a DevOps context Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills Experience in regulated environments (insurance or financial services preferred)
