Reporting to the Underground Manager and working back to back with the Technical Services Superintendent, you will fill the statutory Alternate Underground Manager role on a regular basis, supporting the leadership of the underground operations team to safely and effectively mine the resource. Additionally, you will provide technical and operational development to the underground mine engineering team in support of growing team capability and in order to achieve our long term operational objectives. This is a full time permanent opportunity, working predominantly an 8 days on, 6 days off roster. The role may be Fly-in Fly-out from Perth WA or Drive-in Drive-out from Kalgoorlie. The opportunity Direct the underground operations’ mining team and related contractors to execute works in line with contractual obligations to reach our agreed business plans. Manage and direct the underground operations team to produce the plans and designs in line with the monthly schedule to deliver to plan and, with the Mining Contractor(s), align with the delivery of tonnes and ounces against budget. Manage the business improvement governance for the operations to achieve site targets as set out in the strategy and business plan. Develop and deliver our business improvement initiatives in line with the Leonora Business Improvement Program. Build and maintain key relationships with the Mining Contractor to evaluate their performance, track trends to ensure actions are taken to correct variances and deliver results in a cost effective manner. Ensure control and delivery of capital expenditure and project scope. Enable and support a safety focused culture; and Deliver on strategy, budget costs, mine development, key infrastructure and production. We would love to hear from you if you have : First Class WA Mine Managers Certificate. A degree qualification in mining engineering. Significant demonstrated relevant experience in mining, with appropriate experience in underground mining. Thorough understanding of statutory reporting requirements and the WA Mining regulations. Strong leadership skills including developing direct reports. Financial analytical skills and commercial acumen.
