Your Role Catherine McAuley College are seeking a vibrant, efficient, and energetic person for the position of Finance Assistant. This is a term-time continuing position for 12hpw/2 days per week (Thursday & Friday), commencing from 19 January 2026 or as negotiated with the successful applicant. The Finance Assistant will apply a depth of knowledge and a broad range of skills which facilitate the financial management and administration of the college. Typical duties performed include, but are not limited to: Practicing confidentiality in relation to all aspects of the role Prepare financial information to trial balance and generate monthly Profit and Loss and Balance sheet reports Reconcile GST monthly and submit BAS statements to the ATO on time. Manage debtor and creditor ledgers, reconcile accounts, and follow up on overdue payments. Oversee accounts for school fees and sundry items, including receipting and accurate record-keeping. Maintain accounts receivable, accounts payable, and general ledger using the TASS program. Monitor expenditure against the approved budget, ensure proper authorisation of purchases, and report regularly to the Principal. Validate invoices and apply inventory and purchasing control procedures. Applying knowledge of advanced functions of computer software packages and managing data Training staff classified at lower levels by means of personal instruction and demonstration For more information, please review the Position Description . In addition you will have excellent time management skills, well developed interpersonal skills and a high proficiency of computer skills. Previous experience in a busy school office would be advantageous.
