Offering career growth and a collaborative, supportive and inclusive culture. The Role As a Mechanical Engineer, you will join the Product Assurance and Test Systems Engineering team. This role is responsible for designing, developing, and supporting automated test systems used for design verification, validation, and manufacturing quality gates. The successful candidate will work across mechanical, electromechanical, pneumatic, and PLC-driven architectures, ensuring robust system performance that supports product reliability and quality. Design and develop test systems, fixtures and mechanisms to support design verification, validation and manufacturing quality-gate testing Create detailed CAD designs, assemblies, drawings and documentation to support fabrication, assembly and commissioning Design automated electromechanical and pneumatic subsystems integrated with PLC-based control architectures Support the build, commissioning, troubleshooting and ongoing maintenance of test systems in R&D and manufacturing environments Analyse failures and faults to determine root cause and recommend corrective actions Support and perform risk assessments, including FMEA; identify control plans, KPIs and process improvements to mitigate risks Provide technical support to production and operations teams for new manufacturing processes and diagnostic test systems Develop test plans for mechanisms and assemblies across development, qualification, and acceptance stages Assist design teams to reproduce, investigate and resolve issues found during testing Use statistical analysis tools to assess system maturity, stability and capability Skills and experience Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline Strong CAD capability (SolidWorks or similar) with experience generating production-ready mechanical designs Experience designing automated electromechanical or pneumatic systems, ideally integrated with PLC-driven controls Hands-on experience with testing, troubleshooting, and root cause analysis of mechanical systems Experience developing test rigs or production test systems is highly desirable Familiarity with FMEA, risk assessment and quality-control methodologies Ability to apply statistical tools (e.g., Minitab, JMP, or similar) to validate system performance and maturity Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail Ability to work cross-functionally with design, manufacturing, quality, and service engineering teams Excellent written and verbal communication skills Desirable: experience producing manufacturing documentation & complying with GDP N.B.
