The Opportunity: KBR is seeking an experienced Combat Systems Integration Engineer to join our Land Manoeuvre Systems Branch within the Land Systems Domain. This role is suited to an engineer with proven communications systems integration experience and a strong background in systems engineering within complex Defence platforms. You will contribute to technical investigations, engineering change activities and certification outcomes for land-based platform systems, working within an Authorised Engineering Organisation (AEO) environment. This role also includes mentoring junior engineers and engaging closely with Defence customers and industry partners. In this role, you will support the development, management and execution of engineering investigations and instructions relating to land platform systems. You will participate in engineering design reviews, ensure compliance with certification standards and industry best practice, and contribute to systems engineering management activities across the lifecycle. All candidates will be required to hold and maintain an active NV1 Defence Security Clearance. Only candidates holding a NV1 Clearance or above should apply. Responsibilities: Lead and support the development of Technical Investigations and Technical Instructions for platform systems, including verification and validation of technical data Work collaboratively with assistant and graduate engineers within a multidisciplinary engineering team Develop and manage design requirements in the context of engineering change management and configuration management for mechanical and electrical platform systems Participate in Engineering Design Reviews and contribute to Engineering Support Reports Deliver engineering activities in accordance with the Authorised Engineering Organisation (AEO) framework Operate in line with the Contractor Engineering Management Plan (CEMP) Assist in the preparation and review of work instructions, maintenance schedules and technical documentation Produce high-quality engineering reports and support design contract documentation Ensure compliance with relevant certification standards and established industry practices Develop and maintain effective working relationships with Defence customers and key suppliers Provide mentoring and technical guidance to team members, including graduate engineers Undertake additional duties as required to support project outcomes As the ideal candidate you will bring: A degree in Engineering (Communications, Mechatronic, Electrical) Chartered Professional Engineer (CPEng) status or eligibility Demonstrated experience in communications systems integration within complex platforms Proven capability in developing and executing Systems Engineering Management Plans (SEMPs) Hands-on experience with configuration management practices Working knowledge of the ASDEFCON contracting framework (above and/or below the line) Experience in risk management within Defence or similarly regulated environments Experience in Verification and Validation (V&V) planning and test execution All candidates will be required to hold and maintain an active NV1 Defence Security Clearance.
