Job Description About the team and the role You’ll be part of the Aviation Analytics and Insights team, reporting to the Senior Manager, Aviation Analytics. The team sits within the Aviation Growth and Group Strategy business unit and works closely with a range of internal stakeholders, including Data@SYD, Operations, Planning and Delivery, Government Relations, Sustainability, Legal, Finance, Commercial, and People & Corporate Affairs. As Senior Analyst, you’ll leverage data to empower our Aviation teams across Business Development, Group Strategy, Commercial, and Partnerships. Your insights will help drive capacity, demand, and market share, supporting both day-to-day operations and long-term strategic planning. You’ll also play a key part in internal and Board-level analytics, performance reporting, and the development of new frameworks and processes for this growing function. In this role, you will have the opportunity to Lead analysis of aviation data to uncover business development opportunities and market trends. Direct strategic market research, including passenger trends and new route identification. Oversee international market and airline analysis, including competitor benchmarking and market share insights. Contribute to long-term planning, including SYD’s 2050 traffic growth strategy and bilateral air rights tracking. Develop compelling business cases for airline engagement and support Aero Marketing with strategic analysis. Prepare monthly airline and passenger performance reports, and develop detailed passenger forecasts. Establish frameworks and SOPs for the new analytics function, collaborating across the business. About you Tertiary qualifications in a numerically based discipline. 5 years’ experience in analytics or market research, ideally within aviation or transport. Strong understanding of airport and airline business models. Proven ability to manage multiple stakeholders and present to senior audiences. Experience mentoring or leading junior team members. Excellent data analysis, visualisation, and communication skills. Advanced Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint skills. Analytical, strategic, and detail-oriented mindset. Demonstrated project management and stakeholder engagement experience.
