About the role This position is responsible for promotions of library events and outreach activities through various library promotional channels. Excellent interpersonal skills in dealing with internal and external stakeholders and customers, and advanced time management skills, are essential in this role. This position also needs to respond to frontline customer service needs On a daily basis you will: Research, write, and produce media releases, media kits, and promotional materials (e.g., brochures, flyers). Organise and manage events/programs, including booking participants, arranging catering, and preparing briefing notes and running sheets for presenters. Develop and maintain media contacts, mailing lists, and liaise with sponsors, partners, and statewide library marketing initiatives to support events and reduce costs. Deliver effective customer service, provide reader advisory and referral services, and assist with collection maintenance and library security when required. Manage minor budgets, reconcile petty cash, schedule priorities with minimal supervision, and handle building maintenance referrals. About You The successful candidate should have previous demonstrated broad range of experience in publicity and promotion and/or experience working in a library environment. You will also bring: Recognised technician’s qualification in Information Science / Librarianship (eligible for technician membership of the Australian Library and Information Association) or equivalent; or Certificate/ Tertiary qualification in Marketing, Media Studies, Communication or equivalent. Develop and maintain relationships with customers and stakeholders both internally and externally Sound digital technology and design skills in dealing with digital platforms such as social media, library website, excel, word, Canva, and ticketing system Develop and plan marketing strategies Provide clients with access to required information What’s on offer We are offering permanent part time position (24-hours/week) with an attractive remuneration from $82,692.71 to $91,067.29 plus 12% superannuation.
