For the Junior to Mid-Level Flood Engineer, this will be a chance to work alongside our highly regarded Flooding Engineers who will provide you with support and mentorship, and the wider Civil Development, Drainage and Water Teams. For the Senior Flood Engineer, the diverse portfolio of iconic projects, clients and sectors we work across will give you an abundance of opportunity to further develop your technical skills in a range of areas, or provide you a stepping stone into project delivery and leadership roles. The role offers the opportunity to work on both interstate and international projects leveraging Arup’s truly global business model and philosophy, and can be based in either of our Brisbane, Sunshine Coast, Gold Coast, Townsville or Cairns offices. A degree in Civil Engineering, with Chartered status or active progress toward it (IEAust or equivalent). Strong experience in flood modelling (1D, 2D, or combined), using tools such as TUFLOW and HEC-RAS, and hydrologic packages such as URBS, RORB, WBNM, or RAFTS. Working knowledge of AR&R v4.2 processes, GIS platforms (QGIS, ArcGIS), and the ability to contribute to multidisciplinary projects. Excellent communication, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills, with a collaborative, team-focused mindset. Desirable additional skills such as water balance modelling (GoldSim), CFD modelling (Flow 3D), and coding (Python or similar).
