The Role We are seeking a meticulous and proactive Payroll and Finance Officer to join our team. The Payroll and Finance Officer will be responsible for ensuring the accurate and timely processing of payroll activities, adherence to regulatory requirements, and providing support to employees and stakeholders regarding payroll inquiries. Key Responsibilities : Prepare and process the fortnightly payroll function, including managing timesheets, leave applications, overtime payments, variations and exceptions, and deductions. Administer superannuation payments and other relevant payments monthly. Perform payroll administration tasks and maintain employee records, such as setting up new starters and processing terminations, managing pay increases, and back-pays. Provide advice and assistance to franchisees and promptly respond to queries from Jira. Monitor and maintain the integrity of payroll functions and systems, ensuring compliance with internal control procedures and legislative requirements. Prepare reconciliations, reports, IAS statements, and Superannuation returns accurately and in a timely manner. Provide support for accounts receivables, including invoicing tuition fees, and collaborate with the corporate team to resolve customer and government department issues. Undertake any other reasonable direction within the scope of skills, competence, training, and experience as provided by the manager. Ideal Experience: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred. Proven experience in payroll administration and processing. Strong understanding of payroll regulations and compliance requirements. Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills. Proficient in payroll software such as Xero and Microsoft Office Suite. Ability to prioritise tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
