Our Client, Lighthouse Shipwrights, are an industry leader in Boat Building and Repairs. They pride themselves on providing exceptional craftsmanship with everything from cabinetry and teak decking, building and repairs, project management and shipwright repairs. As a result of the high-quality work produced, Lighthouse Shipwrights now have a position available for a qualified Boat Builder/Shipwright to join the team. Located on the Gold Coast and working primarily on Moreton Bay Cruisers / Pleasure Cruisers, this position is casual to start, but offers 38 hours per week. For the right candidate, this may lead to a permanent position. As a qualified Boat Builder/Shipwright, you will have experience in Timber and Fibreglass repair and restoration. In addition, your daily tasks will include, but are not limited to; Building and installing structures such as cabins, hull, roof / hardtops, decks Determining repair requirements and procedures Installing masts, frames, decking, fittings, machines, shafts and safety equipment Fabricate and repair vessels using materials such as wood, fibreglass, carbon fibre Work with people in a group or team Be exact or highly accurate To be successful for this role you MUST: Be trade qualified; Ability to work unsupervised; Sound understanding and expertise in boat building and repairs; Have experience with power tools; Excellent attention to detail; High level time management, prioritisation, ability to meet deadlines and a commitment to safe work practices; Willing to work cohesively in a team; Current drivers’ license; and Possess a strong interest in the Maritime industry.
