THE OPPORTUNITY In this newly created role, the Senior Payroll Advisor (Projects) will take ownership and provide leadership over a variety of compliance projects across multiple Australian states and territories. The key accountability will be applying the correct rules and regulations that each jurisdiction utilises to provide recommendations and process accurate remediation calculations. Key Responsibilities: Conduct ad-hoc audits of payroll transactions and processes Review payroll outputs from the operational team to confirm compliance with Awards, Fair Work Act, NES, Superannuation Guarantee, PAYG, and Payroll Tax obligations Validate application of Awards, Enterprise Agreements, Pay Rates, Allowances, and Penalty Rates Calculate and process remediation payments to employees including Lump Sum Payments, Tax assessments and Superannuation shortfalls Update and maintain compliance risk registers and contribute to risk mitigation strategies Proactive/reactive liaison with external regulators and/or internal and external audit teams Providing detailed findings and recommendations to the Group Payroll Manager POSITIVES This is a newly created position that will present you with the opportunity to stamp your mark in a highly visible role across an established, iconic and hugely successful Australian business entering its next phase of growth. Whilst the contract is initially 12 months, there is a strong likelihood the role will either be extended or transition to permanent. IDEAL APPLICANTS At least 5 year’s experience in a dedicated Payroll work environment. Attention to detail is absolute key combined with an analytical mindset. Previous experience working in remedial related project work (like over/underpayments, Overtime/Penalties/Allowances, Long Service Leave, Superannuation etc.) will be looked upon favourably but is not mandatory.
