About the role Disassemble, inspect and requalify HME/locomotive components including wheel motors, alternators, traction motors, cartridges, blowers and radiator fans. Measure and inspect critical journals and bores. Conduct requalification inspections of bearings and pinions. Assemble HME components including preparation, installation and bearing installation. Perform quality checks throughout assembly. Use iPad to manage job progression. Maintain a strong commitment to safety. Industry leading in-house training provided. About you Relevant trade qualification as Mechanical Fitter, Mechanical Machine Repair or equivalent. Experience in the overhaul of AC and DC traction motors. Experience in overhaul of alternators and rotating electrical equipment. Sound electrical and mechanical experience required. Experience with GE or EMD motors and associated equipment highly regarded. High level of measuring skills with strong attention to detail and quality standards. Strong communication skills, both oral and written. Willingness to learn.
