This is a true engineering-led role, not a back-office function, where your voice shapes how projects are planned, designed and executed. What You’ll Do Lead and manage design consultants and technical specialists. Drive technical risk management across design and construction. Integrate design and delivery to achieve safe, efficient, buildable outcomes. Influence tender strategy, methodology and engineering solutions. Develop innovative, compliant design approaches that strengthen competitiveness in tenders. Enable successful project delivery through robust engineering management that drives cost, program and risk outcomes. What you bring: Constructor-side experience with strong buildability instincts D&C experience managing complex, multi-disciplinary design environments Specialist expertise strongly valued, particularly in: Ports & Marine (coastal structures, jetties, underwater works) Water (treatment, conveyance, storage, systems integration) Tunnelling (geotechnical interfaces, underground structures) Strong stakeholder and consultant management capability Ability to influence, challenge respectfully, and lead technical decisions A tertiary engineering qualification and 10 years in complex infrastructure About Us McConnell Dowell - Creative Construction Our purpose is Providing a Better Life.
