About the Opportunity An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Travel Sales Team Leader to join our Travel & Experience team. Day to day you will lead and support a team of Travel Sales Consultants, located in the head office and retail store - 485 Bourke Street Melbourne CBD, to ensure the team operates efficiently, deliver sales objectives, KPI’s and great customer service. You will also manage your own sales accounts and bookings relationships, to provide exceptional travel experiences and satisfaction to our members and customers. This could be just the right role for you? In this role, you will lead, coach and support the Travel & Experience team to achieve sales, KPI’s & customer satisfaction. You will train the team on operational processes, as well as engaging with key partners for product training, to amplify industry knowledge and deliver the department sales results. Your key responsibilities for the role include: Promote holiday packages, flights, hotels, cruises, tours, experiences & insurance, facilitating domestic & international travel bookings and payments between travellers & suppliers, using Amadeus GDS Take a hands-on approach providing leadership to the Travel Sales Consultants, ensuring the delivery of exceptional customer service, bookings, travel insurance, payments, objectives & KPI’s are achieved Promote a positive workplace culture, lead by example, coach, train, provide advice and support best practice processes, maintain an up to date knowledge of products, services, upselling & cross-selling opportunities Maximising revenue by ensuring preferred partners are promoted & sold where appropriate Assist with people management including coverage of staff on leave & performance management Attend meetings, report on sales, key metrics and performance Build strong relationships with internal & external stakeholders, resolve complaints and attend industry events ie. supplier & product events, ship inspections, travel expos & educational opportunities Our team work Monday – Friday 9am-5pm, with the requirement to attend occasional out of office industry events. The business may consider increasing to 7 day trading in the future, with a requirement for staff to work weekends. What you’ll need to be successful Demonstrated sales experience in retail travel agency environment Certificate III in Travel qualification or higher, preferred Experience in a leadership role – coaching, training & developing a team, travel industry preferred GDS flight booking experience, Amadeus or Sabre preferred CRM & telephone based sales experience, desirable Strong customer service, communication, time management & problem solving skills Ability to manage workflow, set goals, meet sales targets & work productively Passion for travel industry and personal travel experience, preferred Excellent personal presentation We are Offering Permanent Full-time 38 hours week Competitive Salary, industry benchmarked Generous employee benefits & discounts on RACV products & resorts TRAVEL!
