Job Description The Family Inclusion Network (FIN) is part of the Equity and Systems Change Cluster within Micah Projects. FIN works alongside parents with lived experience of the child protection and family support systems to improve policy, practice, and outcomes for families. Through advocacy, consultation, and collaboration with government and community stakeholders, FIN seeks to strengthen the voice of parents in systems design and reform, build partnerships that promote inclusion and respect, and contribute to fairer, more effective child and family support systems. We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Systems Advocacy Worker (Child Protection) to w ork with parents who have experienced, or are currently experiencing, the child protection system, and who are interested in contributing to systems improvement. You will use your child protection practice background to work in a trauma-informed way with parents, lived-experience workers, government and community stakeholders to design, plan, deliver, and support advocacy forums, consultations, and events. You will also produce reports and communication material that promote systemic change. This is a permanent full time employment opportunity with conditions and salary at Level 5 of the SCHADS Award. Desired Skills and Experience Key Responsibilities Use child protection practice knowledge to augment our systems advocacy, project, and policy work. Mentor the team (including lived-experience workers) by sharing your practice expertise in supporting parents and groups. Participate in responding to parent enquiries and manage the parent enquiry function. Work alongside parents with lived experience of the child protection system to strengthen their voice and participation in systems reform. Essential Criteria: Relevant Human Services certificate, diploma or tertiary qualification and experience, or a combination of experience, expertise, and competence in Child Protection Experience in system-level policy advocacy, or the ability to rapidly acquire these skills to complement your child protection experience. Evidence of high-level communication (written and verba)l skills, and IT competencies (including Microsoft Office and other IT systems). Demonstrated commitment to cultural diversity and a working knowledge of equity and WHS principles.
