About the Role We’re looking for an experienced and proactive Senior Technical Workshop Coordinator to join our Cairns team. This hybrid role combines senior technical responsibilities with workshop coordination and leadership. You’ll spend most of your time in the workshop, overseeing repairs, coordinating service operations, and maintaining equipment flow but will also attend on-site jobs as needed to support installations, major repairs, and key customer relationships. You’ll act as the technical lead within the workshop, managing workflow between technicians, service administration, and customers, while ensuring the quality and efficiency that Coffee NQ is known for. Key Responsibilities Lead the day-to-day operations of the technical workshop to ensure efficiency, safety, and organisation. Perform advanced diagnostics, repairs, and testing on commercial coffee equipment. Provide technical guidance and mentorship to other technicians. Coordinate all service jobs, scheduling, and parts usage in SAP and SimPRO. Attend customer sites occasionally for complex repairs, installations, or service support. Manage parts ordering and maintain stock levels for the workshop and field teams. Maintain a clean, safe, and well-organised workshop, ensuring tools and equipment are ready for use. Conduct routine stock-takes and collaborate with admin for inventory accuracy. Oversee quoting and progress updates for commercial repairs. Evaluate returning equipment and determine if it should be repaired, serviced, or retired. Prepare equipment for installation, testing, and dispatch. What You’ll Bring Proven experience as a Senior Technician or Workshop Coordinator in a technical service environment. Experience working with appliances, preferably commercial coffee equipment. Electrical Mechanic Licence (required). Excellent troubleshooting and repair skills, with a strong mechanical and electrical background. Strong organisational and time management skills. Excellent fault-finding, electrical, and mechanical diagnostic skills. Competence in inventory management and workshop administration. Proactive, practical mindset with strong attention to detail. Ability to work collaboratively across technical, administrative, and customer-facing teams. Current manual driver’s licence and clean driving record.
