Your role at St John of God Murdoch Hospital In this role, you will work closely with the Manager, Health Information Services (HIS), to deliver a high-quality and efficient service. Your solid understanding of case mix funding in both private and public hospital environments will enable you to contribute to accurate classification processes and effective funding models. This role will be offered on a 12-month fixed-term, full-time basis, working 38 hours per week, covering an extended maternity leave period, commencing February 2026. The Position Assist with streamlining the day-to-day operational processes HIS including: Rostering/leave cover/daily productivity. Arranging regular team meetings to enhance intra-departmental communication. Scanned health record procedures including education, quality and training. My health record procedures including education and privacy review Assisting with monitoring clerical to ensure appropriate resources are provided and procedures are in place to meet KPIs. Analyse and respond to health fund queries and audits. Attend OH&S meetings and educate HIS caregivers to work safely. Ensure currency of HIS procedure manual. Monitor secondary storage provision and costs. Work collaboratively with the Manager, HIS, and assist with other duties/projects. Liaise and collaborate with Clinical Documentation Specialist. Assist with the coordination of health record forms. Management of privacy request processes when required. Conduct privacy and documentation presentation at Hospital Orientation. Ensure and maintain confidentiality of information in the health record. Provision and analysis of activity/research reports and data to support hospital caregivers. Manage and maintain Health Information Services, in the absence of the Manager, Health Information Services. Your initiative, reliability and strong communication skills will enable you to work effectively both independently and within a collaborative team. With solid computer proficiency and a commitment to great customer service, you will deliver clear and professional support to patients, colleagues and stakeholders. You bring excellent organisational skills, attention to detail and a commitment to ongoing learning, helping you manage competing priorities and contribute positively to team culture. To be successful, you will hold a Bachelor of Health Information Management or equivalent. Proficiency in the use of ICD-10-AM will be highly regarded. Demonstrated experience with Scanned Health Record Systems (such as Infomedix) and Patient Administration Systems (such as WebPAS) would be highly desirable.
