We are recruiting on behalf of a leading property owner and operator for an experienced, collaborative and highly capable Senior Placemaking & Marketing Manager to join their team on a 12-month contract. This is a high-impact role suited to a strategic yet hands-on marketing professional who thrives on collaboration, clear communication and delivering best-in-class outcomes across retail and commercial property environments. The Opportunity In this role, you will lead the delivery of strategic placemaking initiatives across a diverse property portfolio, with a strong focus on retail and public realm activation. Working closely with on-site teams, operations, asset management, external partners and senior leadership, you will help position assets as vibrant, engaging and market-leading destinations. You will play a critical role in shaping and delivering marketing strategies that support retail, office and public space activation nationally—while fostering strong team culture, mentoring junior talent and leading by example. Key Responsibilities Placemaking, Marketing & Communications Lead placemaking and activation strategies across retail and public realm environments Deliver integrated marketing campaigns across digital, on-site, advertising and tenant communications Develop and manage office, retail and public space programming in collaboration with internal teams Write, review and manage high-quality marketing and communications materials ensuring brand consistency Work closely with operations teams on tenant, website and social media communications Manage contractor and agency relationships including creative, digital, PR, events and production partners Stakeholder & Team Collaboration Partner with asset management, operations and leasing teams to support commercial objectives Engage with tenants, co-owners, government and transport stakeholders where required Act as a trusted team member who contributes positively to culture, collaboration and continuous improvement Provide guidance and mentoring to junior team members Financial & Contractor Management Prepare and manage annual marketing and placemaking budgets Track forecasts, invoices and variances in partnership with finance teams Ensure projects are delivered on time, on budget and to a best-in-class standard Prepare placemaking estimates for new developments and initiatives Delivery & Execution Develop detailed run sheets and risk mitigation plans for activations and events Balance strategic thinking with hands-on delivery in a fast-paced environment Ensure all outputs are accurate, timely and aligned with commercial and brand objectives About You You are a confident communicator and collaborative team player with a proven background in property marketing. You are comfortable managing multiple stakeholders, contractors and budgets, while maintaining a strong attention to detail and a solutions-focused mindset. You will bring: Minimum 5 years’ experience in property marketing , ideally within retail and/or commercial property Strong experience across digital marketing, advertising, events and placemaking Demonstrated experience managing agencies, suppliers and contractors Exceptional written and verbal communication skills Strong financial acumen with experience managing budgets and forecasts A proactive, positive and team-oriented approach Ability to work autonomously while contributing effectively as part of a wider team Qualifications Tertiary qualifications in Marketing or a related discipline Background in events, activation or placemaking marketing highly desirable Why Apply This is an opportunity to step into a visible, influential role where your ideas, leadership and communication skills will directly shape how places come to life.
