My client is seeking a highly experienced Enterprise Architect to lead a major cloud modernisation and legacy uplift initiative for an industry-critical system. This role requires 15 years’ experience delivering enterprise strategy, large-scale system transformation and legacy modernisation in complex environments. You will act as the technical authority for a multi-million-dollar AWS migration, ensuring strong architectural governance, delivery rigour and successful outcomes. Reporting to the Program Director, you will work across business and technical teams to guide architecture decisions, manage risk and provide clarity to executive decision-making. The role demands deep expertise across enterprise, solution, data and cloud architecture, with strong experience in modern, cloud-native and event-driven design. Key Responsibilities Act as the senior accountable architect for a major system uplift, ensuring alignment between enterprise architecture strategy and detailed functional and non-functional requirements Provide technical leadership and governance for large-scale AWS-hosted modernisation initiatives Lead the migration of legacy platforms to modern, cloud-native architectures, with a preference for event-sourcing and event-driven patterns Define and enforce architecture governance frameworks, standards, reference models and Architecture Review Boards Translate strategic objectives and Business Capability Models into executable architecture roadmaps Guide modernisation of core platforms through API-led integration, SOA and DevOps practices Advise executive stakeholders on technology strategy, investment prioritisation, risk management and future platform roadmaps Coordinate architecture outcomes across regulators, vendors, delivery teams and internal stakeholders Mentor architecture and technical teams, building organisational architectural maturity Ensure all solutions meet stringent non-functional requirements for security, performance, resilience and regulatory compliance.
