How you will contribute to our mission in getting Australia to space: The below is designed to give you an idea of the role you will play. There will be many more exciting and innovative things to do. Lead and assist in the design and analysis for turbomachinery development and upgrade projects within a turbomachinery team Develop in-house design and simulation tools required for turbine and pump engineering. Define requirements and development plans for new and upgraded technical projects Prepare and grow the company’s capability to manufacture, assemble and test turbines and pumps and required auxiliary sub-systems. Assist the Quality department on performing quality checks, cleanliness inspection and measurements on received, manufacture and assembled parts. Develop written procedures and checklists for performing test & commissioning operations, and support test teams as required. Ensure engineering models, simulations tools and technical documents are up to date and in accordance to Gilmour Space Technologies policies and procedures. Communicate with head of propulsion, program managers and team members throughout the company to develop good working relationships and ensure daily operational requirements are met. Provide senior influence, technical guidance and support the development and work allocation of the junior team in liaison with team lead Perform other duties as requested by Management Mandatory Qual ifications, Skills and Experience: Bachelor or Master’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering. Minimum 3 years of experience in developing high performance mechanical and fluid systems, ideally involving pumps and/or turbines. 5 years’ experience with CAD designing parts and assemblies (NX/Teamcenter preferred, but other relevant experience is valuable), or Experience with at least one commercial FEA or Multiphysics simulation package (ANSYS preferred or NASTRAN, ABAQUS, CFD codes, etc.) 3 years’ hands-on hardware experience performing fabrication, assembly, integration and testing. NV1 Security Clearance eligible preferred. Desired Qualifications, Skills and Experience: Demonstrated experience leading a team of engineers and delivering working projects within tight schedule and budget constraints Experience developing & testing rocket engines Experience developing & testing rocket engine turbopumps Experience in using industry standard turbomachinery software and/or be able to establish inhouse developed codes and simulation techniques.
