About this role: Working within our SIL (Supported Independent Living) homes, you will provide support, assisting people with disabilities to live as independently as possible. In this role you will be supporting clients that require sensitive manners and understanding complex behaviours. You will be empathetic and have strong interpersonal skills. We're currently looking for a Support Worker with a heart for people to join us for permanent hours of 50 per fortnight at our Residential SIL home based in Cannonvale, QLD . If you have a genuine commitment to making a positive impact in the lives of people with disabilities, and are flexible to work various shifts, including mornings, afternoons, overnights (multiple sleepovers with minimum 2 per FN) and weekends, we would love to hear from you! What You’ll Do: Provide hands-on care: Assist disability residents with everyday hygiene activities such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting. Support mobility & transfers: Help with positioning and mobility to ensure comfort and safety. Experience with manual handling tools and strategies. Meal support: Assist with meal preparation and feeding (if required) or simply keeping them company and social interaction. Monitor well-being: Keep a close eye on residents’ health and report any changes or incidents . Build meaningful connections: Foster positive relationships with residents, their families, and your fellow team members. Create a safe, clean environment: Contribute to maintaining a space where residents feel at ease and cared for. What You Bring: A Certificate III or IV in Individual Support, Aged Care or Disability (Desired) Previous experience in similar role of disability or other human services (Desired) Australian Police Check (or willingness to undergo one) NDIS Workers Screening Check & Working with Children Check (or willingness to get one). Australian Drivers Licence with Comprehensive Insurance with Own Vehicle. Full working rights in Australia (no sponsorships offered).
