Your New Role Reporting to the Principal, Insurance Operations and Claims, the Senior Manager, Claims Performance & Oversight plays a critical role in ensuring excellence across our claims processes. This position is responsible for overseeing service delivery for disability claims, including monitoring the performance and quality of external service providers. It also involves embedding strong governance standards by maintaining compliance with the claims oversight framework and leading the Insurance Claims Committee with robust management and strategic direction. Duties and Responsibilities include but are not limited to. Ensure disability claims are managed and decisioned in line with the Fund’s policies, industry standards, and regulatory frameworks. Oversee and manage service providers and insurers to ensure service performance and quality standards are met. Create and monitor recovery plans when service levels are not met. Ensure business rules and knowledge content remain current and relevant. Develop and implement tactical and strategic initiatives to enhance performance and service. Lead the development and implementation of claims oversight frameworks. Prepare regular reporting for the Board and relevant Board and Management committees. Provide input to Fund policies and procedures (including the Insurance Management Framework) Ensure assurance activities and claim reviews are conducted to uphold regulatory compliance and service delivery. Relevant legislative and organisational requirements are met. Ensure risk is managed and assigned controls are operating effectively. Actively build and promote a team culture of compliance and risk management awareness and appreciation. Develop a high performing, diverse and engaged team who will support the successful delivery of the Fund’s strategic ambitions, and are innovative, resilient, and equipped to deal with ambiguity. What You’ll Need Extensive industry experience in a superannuation or insurance role Senior management experience within insurance and/or claim teams. Proven experience regarding claim committees and board reporting Experience managing operational teams and outsourced service providers. Well-developed ability to work diligently, efficiently, and with accuracy paying close attention to detail. Well-developed ability to research matters of a technical nature, read and understand technical documents, determine the subject matter and to prepare reports. Well-developed written and oral communication/ interpersonal skills with the ability to present ideas, perspectives, and issues to senior management. RG146 compliant, or willingness to obtain qualification if required.
