Your New Role Reporting to a Team Leader, the Case Manager role is responsible for managing a dedicated portfolio of complex death claims from initiation through to closure. This includes supporting families and loved ones of deceased members with empathy and professionalism throughout every stage of the process. As a key member of the Bereavements Team, you will work collaboratively with colleagues and external partners to resolve cases efficiently and effectively, ensuring seamless service delivery and shared success. Key Responsibilities include but are not limited to: Ownership of a portfolio of death claims, leading the review and managing distribution through case management to final payment. Act as the primary point of contact for claimants, providing clear, factual information and keeping them informed of progress with compassion and respect. Maintain and monitor case queues, ensuring all outstanding items are addressed within service standards and workflow remains at a high level. Partner with team members and third parties to identify and resolve complex issues, fostering a culture of teamwork and shared accountability. Identify potential insurance benefits and manage relationships with insurers and other stakeholders to ensure timely and successful claim assessments. What You’ll Need Strong empathy skills when speaking to Claimants on the phone. Strong problem solving and solutions outcomes skills. Meticulous attention to detail and pride in performance. Relevant experience in a similar role (with an administrator or in superannuation insurance preferred). Excellent written and oral communication skills, including the ability to proofread, spelling and English grammar skills. Excellent organisational abilities to manage tasks according to priority.
