Your role at St John of God Health Care You will be responsible for two distinct primary functions; the procurement of goods and services for St John of God Hospital (SJGH) Bendigo, and the supervision of the supply team located at SJGH Bendigo. You will provide effective leadership in the daily supply functions of picking, packing and distribution of orders, servicing Imprest stores, and the receipting and distribution of incoming goods to the hospital wards and departments. The Position Provide leadership and direction as part of the supply team, ensuring the daily scanning, picking, packing, receipting and distribution functions are performed to the highest level of accuracy and efficiency and the targeted customer service levels are achieved. Perform all Storeperson duties to ensure the supply team achieves the daily output requirements. Ensure all supply tasks are performed as per existing policies and procedures as directed and contribute to the development and implementation of new procedures. Maintain the hospital supply area in a clean and safe manner ensuring all OH&S and Safe Operating Procedures are adhered to by all supply caregivers and reporting all OH&S concerns to the Operations Manager. Work with departments to establish need for goods or services. Determine most appropriate method of acquisition to minimize financial impact; sourcing from imprest, inventory, central stock, or supplier. Ensure existing contractual or supplier agreements are utilized. Create purchase orders for goods or services as per SJGHC policies or procedures. Work with Capital Procurement team on purchases of capital equipment. Obtaining prices, quotes and other product information for user departments. Expediting overdue, urgently required and/or outstanding purchase orders. Provide timely feedback to requestors on the status of their request especially when supply cannot be affected within a reasonable time frame. Promptly investigating and resolving invoice discrepancies. Acceptance and checking of goods received at the Hospital Supply Store in accordance with relevant procedures. Assist with the unloading of goods when required using appropriate materials handling aids/equipment – Electric/Manual Pallet Mover, Trolleys etc. Accurately pick multi-line orders from picking lists generated directly from the inventory system or phone/fax requests in accordance with procedures. You will have highly developed leadership skills within a small team environment with experience in a supply service environment. Additionally, you will have excellent customer service and communication skills with a strong focus on team success and customer satisfaction, along with demonstrated ability to multi-task and maintain performance at a high level within allocated time schedules. To succeed you will possess a current Victorian drivers license and be proficient with using a computer for data entry.
