About the Role As a Cleaner, you will play a key role in maintaining the cleanliness and safety of our school facilities, ensuring a positive environment for students, staff, and visitors. Key responsibilities include: Clean and maintain assigned school areas to a high standard, ensuring classrooms, amenities, and shared spaces are safe, hygienic, and ready for students each day. Follow established cleaning schedules, checklists, and routines , including morning readiness tasks and afternoon reset tasks. Perform tasks such as vacuuming, mopping, wiping surfaces, emptying bins, cleaning amenities, spot cleaning walls/doors, and replenishing supplies. Maintain cleaning equipment safely and report any faults, hazards, or maintenance issues promptly. Support whole-school hygiene standards by following infection control practices and using appropriate PPE and chemicals correctly. Work efficiently within the allocated timeframes, prioritising tasks that support learning environments (e.g., classrooms before admin/non-teaching areas). Contribute to a safe school environment by reporting concerns and adhering to all WHS and departmental procedures. Communicate respectfully with colleagues and leadership, and work collaboratively as part of a large cleaning team. This role would suit someone who takes pride in their work, values a clean and safe environment, and enjoys being part of a supportive school community. The following traits would be beneficial: Attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining high cleaning standards. Ability to work independently and manage time effectively. Strong communication skills for liaising with school staff and reporting issues. Experience in cleaning or maintenance roles (beneficial but not essential).
