This role plays a critical part in safeguarding WSI’s infrastructure, operations, and data by identifying risks, as well as enabling mature continuous security operations to proactively mitigate, detect and respond to threats, ensuring alignment with regulatory requirements and minimising business disruption. Reporting to the Cyber Security Manager, you’ll facilitate the proactive prevention, identification, containment and eradication of security incidents for all technology systems. Key security solutions within the WSI Cyber Security Platform include security incident and event management (Splunk), vulnerability scanning (Tenable) and network security (FortiGate), endpoint protection (Defender for Endpoint and Trend Micro), Data Loss Prevention (Purview and AOP) and CASB (Defender for CASB). Key responsibilities: Collaborate with Security Operations Centre, IT and Cyber Security teams to enhance overall cyber security posture of WSI. Uplift and optimise WSI security tools (i.e. Splunk, Tenable, Defender for Endpoint, Trend Micro, Purview, AOP, Defender for CASB) to support proactive mitigation, and timely detection and response of cyber security incidents. Review and uplift of firewall rules and web content filtering configuration (FortiGate), ensuring appropriate access and protection. Ensure consistent onboarding of new and legacy systems and infrastructure to WSI Cyber Security Platform. Continuous improvement across WSI security operations. Compliance with necessary regulatory requirements and standards. Maintenance of cyber policies and underlying procedures and governance. Threat detection, analysis and mitigation. Network security policy review. Data Loss Prevention. Team Collaboration and contribution to a culture of continuous improvement, innovation, and collaboration. Stakeholder Management - work with authorised Managed Service Providers to document and uphold security roles and responsibilities for security monitoring and incident response. Regular reporting to WSI Cyber Security Leadership to ensure ongoing unified approach to cyber incident response is maintained. Incident Response & Resilience - supporting Level 2 and Level 3 cyber security incident analysis, as well as post-incident reviews to strengthen resilience. About You Degree in Cybersecurity, Information Technology, Risk Management, or related field. Proven experience in use and configuration of key cybersecurity tooling, including: SIEM/ SOAR (Splunk), EDR (Defender for Endpoint, Trend Micro), DLP (Purview, Defender for CASB)), gateways, firewalls (FortiGate), vulnerability scanning (Tenable), MFA, MAM/MBM (InTune), PIM/PAM (CyberArk, EntraID) Minimum 5 years of experience in cybersecurity from a fast-paced and dynamic environment Scripting skills (e.g. Python, PowerShell, etc.) Proven experience in cyber security engineering, ideally within federal government, critical infrastructure or aviation sectors. Strong knowledge and experience with securing endpoints, network devices, operational technology, cloud services and emerging technologies. Industry certifications such as CISSP, OSCP, Certified Ethical Hacker, Splunk Certified Cybersecurity Defense Engineer, CompTIA Network (preferred), Forinet Network Security Engineer (preferred). Experience in network security engineering (i.e. firewall rule management) preferred.
