The key duties of the position include The Role The Maintenance Systems Officer acting as the Regional Product Schedule Manager (PSM) is responsible for regional financial planning and must exercise a Financial delegation in-line with the Australia Defence Force funded Product Management Plans. The PSM performs a governance role with respect to local industry suitability, to conduct Defence platform maintenance work in a secure environment appropriate to the platform. This position is critical in Maintenance Service delivery in the North Queensland Region and is responsible for the timely, quality delivery of locally assigned Product Schedule/s. This position will work closely with the customers and Logistic Operations Branch Directorate Product Management Team to manage product schedules, budgets and service delivery. This position will contribute to the customer requirements assessment and strategy development. The position also facilitates ongoing discussion between dependencies, Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM), other Defence Groups and Stakeholders and capability manager directed requirements. Under the Joint Logistic Command Defence Maintenance Contract (delivered nationally but executed regionally), daily maintenance activities are managed by the Industry Partner, while planning, approval as well as governance and assurance activities remains a Commonwealth responsibility. You will serve as a key integration point between the Commonwealth and Industry. You will also collaborate with Maintenance, Warehousing, and other directorates within the Logistics Operations Branch to support contract performance reporting and governance, ensuring value for the Commonwealth and achievement of strategic outcomes. About our Team Joint Logistics Unit-North Queensland is an enthusiastic and professional mix of military and civilian employees who are passionate about supporting soldiers, sailors and aviators across North Queensland. The unit is dedicated to delivering essential logistics services including warehousing, distribution, equipment maintenance and clothing store support to enable military operations. It does this from modern facilities on Lavarack and Ross Island Barracks in Townsville and a smaller satellite site in Cairns. Our Ideal Candidate Our ideal candidate will have extensive experience in coordination or execution of maintenance, or be a logistics professional, providing policy advice in relation to complex work and the ability to contribute to strategic planning, program and project management and policy development.
