The Indigenous Eye Health Assistant would work as part of and provide allied health assistance to the Ophthalmology department. This would include but not be limited to doing clinical assessments such as checking Visual Acuity, Intra-ocular pressure and performing a range of diagnostic scans. They would assist our Clinical Nurse Coordinator in efforts to reduce the rate of Did Not Attend and also educate Indigenous patients on common eye conditions and procedures such as Cataract surgery.
