The Role An opportunity has become available for a Clinical Nurse to join Gold Coast Health (GCH) where the focus of our 13 000-strong team is on providing world-class health care to people living in the Gold Coast, and northern New South Wales region of Australia. You will Undertake holistic mental health consumer care including intake, assessment, diagnostic formulation, treatment planning, implementation of targeted intervention, evaluation, discharge planning and appropriate community support referral. Provide advanced clinical expertise within a comprehensive recovery and rehabilitation-oriented framework of care for consumers with long term complex mental health needs. Provide safe access to needed medical, social, educational, vocational, psycho-social and other necessary services as they relate to the consumers mental health needs, and their recovery. Contribute to development of team capability, provide operational process direction, training, mentoring, reflective practice, debriefing interventions, clinical supervision and application of evidence-based theory into practice support. Support the Nurse Unit Manager in unit operations, relieving duties as needed, contributing to strategic planning, fostering a motivated and productive team, and leading quality improvement, risk management and other unit specific initiatives. About you To be successful in this position you will require: A Bachelor of Nursing or equivalent Registration with the Nursing Midwifery Board of Australia Be credentialed through the College of Mental Health Nurses (or be prepared to work towards a credential in Mental Health Nursing) A graduate certificate or higher qualification within a relevant area is highly desirable Evidence of vaccination, or be able to be vaccinated against and remain vaccinated against - Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella, Pertussis and Hepatitis B Tuberculosis screening, to identify if the tuberculosis vaccination may be required Declaration of serious discipline history must be disclosed Criminal History Screening will be required for new employees (GCH will cover cost) Benefits Flexible work options Career Development Salary Packaging Modern Facilities Diverse Work Culture Research Opportunities 12.75% super 17.5% leave loading Salary Permanent part time (64 hours per fortnight) Base salary ranging from $54.44 - $58.30 per hour About Us The Secure Mental Health Rehabilitation Unit (SMHRU) on the Gold Coast is a 40-bedded world class, compassionate, person-centered facility that fosters recovery of consumers, families and carers for those consumers with complex mental health and addiction issues.
