The Opportunity Due to our sustained growth, we are currently seeking a Mechanical Team Lead to join our Minerals Processing Brownfields team located in Adelaide or Brisbane. If you're a self-motivated, results-driven individual passionate about leading and developing a mechanical engineering team, this role is for you. This position reports directly to the Engineering Manager and involves leading and developing the mechanical team, delivering mechanical design solutions and collaborating with stakeholders and other disciplines to deliver projects from concept through to detailed design for our clients. Key responsibilities: Lead the mechanical input into proposals to detail the engineering scope, deliverables and costs and to develop the methodology and timing to meet the project requirements. Lead and provide guidance for the delivery of technical solutions across all phases of a project life cycle and ensure outcomes are fit for purpose, cost effective and are delivered on schedule and budget. Provide technical governance for the mechanical engineering output on projects. Continuous improvement of standards, tools, processes and guidelines for the mechanical engineering discipline to improve efficiency and technical outcomes. Review and coordinate the teams project allocations to align with project requirements and the individuals’ skills, experience and development needs. Provide effective leadership, coaching and mentoring to support and develop the team. Actively collaborate and influence others through positive behaviours and demonstrating our Values in Action. Qualifications, skills and experience: The candidate must demonstrate the following attributes; Bachelor of Engineering (Mechanical) Minimum 10 years’ experience in a design/consultancy environment in a mechanical engineering capacity Minimum 5 years’ experience in working on multi-discipline engineering projects. Ability to solve complex problems using first principal engineering approach. Ability to identify and resolve technical issues or escalate as required. Detailed experience with engineering tools and software and producing deliverables within the mechanical and piping discipline Sound understanding of project management principles and controls. Demonstrated experience in a similar leadership role. Excellent communication and collaboration skills, both written and verbal. Why join?
