Program Manager Roster: Initial 12-month casual duration with potential to extend another 12-months | Working Full-time hours Monday to Friday Location: Sydney & Newcastle Skills & Experience 7 years’ experience in program or portfolio management within industrial, chemical, energy, refinery, or heavy manufacturing sectors. Strong capability in CAPEX planning, financial governance, and prioritisation. Proven experience coordinating multidisciplinary engineering and maintenance projects. Demonstrated ability to manage risk-heavy or safety-critical projects. Strong communication and stakeholder management skills across all levels. Experience in oil refining, waste oil recovery, Chemicals or hydrocarbon processing. (Desirable) Understanding of flare systems, relief systems, catalyst handling, or similar specialised refinery equipment. (Desirable) Qualifications in Engineering, Project Management, or similar discipline. Duties & Responsibilities Lead the end-to-end program of works across multiple project categories (Maintenance, Risk, SIB, Infrastructure). Develop and maintain the overall program roadmap, milestones, and sequencing of works. Prioritising and optimising project selection within budget constraints. Coordinating feasibility, Identify/Define stages, and transition to execution. Ensuring alignment between asset management, engineering, operations, and HSE teams. Collaborate with refinery operations, engineering, HSE, procurement, and finance. Lead risk assessments for high-risk engineering work such as flare systems, relief systems, and catalyst handling. Oversee program budgets—including multi-million-dollar CAPEX envelopes. Track planned vs. actual capital cost, forecasts, and financial variances.
