Description We are currently working on the Appin Shaft Ventilation Project at Menangle, New South Wales — a critical development that will provide two new ventilation shafts and mine access infrastructure to support the long-term operation of the Appin Mine. As part of this high-profile project, we are seeking Shift Engineers to join our Shaft Sinking Team. Reporting to the Engineering Superintendent, you will play a key role in planning, executing, and optimising shaft sinking operations that directly contribute to the success of the Appin Ventilation Project. Responsibilities Responsibilities Assist with shaft sinking projects from planning through to execution. Review mine designs, stage plans, and prepare safe, efficient project plans. Support project managers with daily and weekly underground schedules. Analyse equipment, resources, and methods to drive performance improvements. Prepare project schedules and cost estimates. Coordinate labour, equipment, and resources to achieve milestones. Ensure ground support is installed to geotechnical specifications. Communicate mine designs and updates effectively to stakeholders. Monitor project performance and prepare management reports. Qualifications Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Mining, Civil, or Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent). 2–5 years’ mining industry experience (desirable). Site-based construction project experience (essential). Proficiency in mine planning, design, and scheduling (preferred). Strong organisational and time management skills. Health & safety focus with proven ability to work in complex environments. Ability to obtain National Police Clearance and pass pre-employment medical.
