About the Project Kimberley Mineral Sands Pty Ltd (KMS) is a 50/50 joint venture between Sheffield Resources Limited and YGH Australia Investment Pty Ltd (Yansteel). The Thunderbird Mineral Sands Operation (Thunderbird) is located mid-way between Derby and Broome, in the Kimberley region of Western Australia. Thunderbird is one of the largest and highest-grade zircon mineral sands deposits in the world and contains valuable heavy minerals including ilmenite, zircon, leucoxene, and rutile, which are extracted and exported via the Port of Broome. Our head office is based in Broome, and together we are focused on delivering economic and social benefits for the West Kimberley and its communities. Description About the Role Location: Perth or Broome (Monday–Friday corporate roster) with regular travel to the Thunderbird site Department: Commercial & Finance Reports to: Head of Commercial What you’ll lead Enterprise Continuous Improvement (CI) framework: design, implement and monitor a practical improvement framework aligned to organisational strategy; track outcomes and benefits with clear reporting. Stewardship (organisational “wiring”) Program: own the design, governance and activities cadence (balanced scorecards, dashboards, KPIs) to drive accountability, transparency and responsible resource management. Priority improvement delivery: identify and prioritise opportunities; facilitate CI activities such as value stream mapping, problem solving and idea generation; lead compliant process enhancements and sustainment plans. Culture & capability: coach and mentor leaders and teams in CI methods (Lean, Six Sigma); develop tools, templates and training that build capability. HS&E and risk alignment: ensure initiatives align with policies, risk frameworks, compliance requirements and our zero harm expectations. Skills And Experiences About You Degree in Business, Management or related discipline. 8 years’ experience in continuous improvement, process optimisation or organisational development in complex environments. Certification in Lean/Six Sigma or equivalent experience. Strong analytics with the ability to translate data into actionable insights. Highly effective stakeholder engagement and communication; you build trust quickly and collaborate to deliver meaningful change.
