Our client, a leading organisation delivering one of South Australia’s most significant transport infrastructure programs, is seeking a Contamination Advisor to support environmental compliance across a large, multi-site construction and tunnelling project. This role offers rare exposure to complex ground conditions, modern tunnelling methodologies and large-scale environmental management systems. You will work closely with senior environmental managers, construction teams, and specialist consultants to ensure contamination risks are identified, understood, and effectively managed during project delivery. About the Opportunity The role is ideal for an environmental professional who enjoys a mix of fieldwork, investigation, reporting, and stakeholder coordination. You’ll support contamination management throughout the project lifecycle, from early investigation through remediation and site acceptance. This position provides accelerated growth due to the size and complexity of the project, offering responsibilities that typically take far longer to achieve in consultancy environments. Key Responsibilities Conduct groundwater and soil contamination investigations and assist in developing remediation strategies Monitor site conditions and review test data to ensure compliance with environmental requirements Support contamination assessments for excavation zones, stockpiles, and high-risk work areas Coordinate with subcontractors, laboratories, and environmental specialists Maintain detailed contamination registers, reports and documentation Participate in field inspections and environmental monitoring activities Provide contamination guidance to construction teams and site supervisors Assist in preparing compliance reports for regulators and internal stakeholders Promote a positive environmental culture through coaching and toolbox discussions Requirements Degree in Environmental Engineering, Environmental Science, Sustainability, Geology or related discipline 3–5 years’ experience in contaminated land, remediation or environmental consulting Understanding of waste classification, PFAS, asbestos, hydrocarbons and remediation methodologies Strong analytical and data-assessment skills Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement capability Comfortable working in both field and office environments White Card and driver’s licence required Benefits Large-scale, landmark infrastructure project Exposure to tunnelling and advanced construction techniques Accelerated technical development supported by senior mentors Career pathway into environmental management roles on future major projects How to Apply Please send your CV to recruitment@multiculturalconsulting.com.au For further enquiry, please call 0481 758 017 .
