The key duties of the position include An exciting opportunity exists for a motivated APS6 individual to join the DTA's Whole-of-Government Contracts Branch. This isn't a transactional purchasing role; this is your chance to step into an influential arena of high-stakes negotiation. Step into the ultimate negotiation arena, you'll be at the forefront of sourcing Australia's digital transformation, negotiating multi-billion dollar deals with the world's most powerful ICT giants. This isn't your typical desk job-instead, you'll join a tight-knit team of experts entrusted with negotiating whole-of-government arrangements with large ICT companies. Imagine sitting across the table from the top executives of global tech titans, engaging in high-stakes negotiation sessions where every decision could shift the cost of digital services for millions of Australians and protection of our billion-dollar investments. Please note: Our work is high-impact and highly collaborative. This role is based at our vibrant DTA Canberra Office, fostering close collaboration and in-person engagement during critical vendor negotiations. Consequently, candidates are required to reside in Canberra, however, we do offer flexible work-from-home requests considered in line with DTA policy. Key duties: Research and analyse existing government agreements, leveraging insights to inform negotiation objectives and embed best practices. Collaborate with legal and commercial experts to develop and refine negotiation positions and produce robust, evidence-based project documentation. Track and follow up on action items and deliverables, organise and schedule meetings, and accurately record minutes to ensure accountability. Represent the DTA in meetings, influence stakeholders with diverse and competing interests to achieve alignment and prepare comprehensive briefings for senior APS leaders and Ministers. Prepare high-quality advice and documentation, including ministerial briefings, discussion papers, media responses, presentations, and negotiation materials.
