About the role:Reporting to the Mechanical Supervisor you will be responsible for directly assisting the Mechanical Supervisor in the optimisation of the performance, availability, and safety of fixed plant by performing preventative maintenance and break downs associated with the mechanical maintenance of the Southern Cross Operations’ Processing Plant and its surrounding work sites, in a safe and efficient manner as well as leading a small team of trades in the absence of the Mechanical Supervisor. This will be a permanent role on an 8/6 roster. BIBO from Perth.About you:The successful candidate will • Have strong leadership qualities • Have a strong safety awareness. • Have a minimum of two years of mechanical experience in Processing fixed plant maintenance – preferably gold. • Be self-motivated, well organised, and able to manage own work to achieve agreed outcomes. • Have a strong focus on delivery and a thorough understanding of sense of urgency requirements. • Have strong attention to detail. • Have strong problem-solving skills and ability to use initiative. • Can work autonomously and as part of a team. • Able to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing. Essential qualifications include: • Relevant trade qualification (Mechanical Fitting or equivalent) • Minimum of 3 years of mine site fixed plant mechanical experience • 2 years of experience working in processing plants • Minimum of 5 years post-apprentice mechanical work experience • Previous experience with Pumps, Ball Mills, Centrifugal Concentrators, Crushers and Conveyors • Experience with processing plant preventative maintenance programs and systems • Working at Heights Ticket (less than 3yrs old) • Confined Spaces Entry Ticket (less than 3yrs old) • Current High Risk Work License consisting of • DG (Dogging) • LF (Forklift Truck) • WP (Boom Type Elevating Work Platforms) • CN (Slewing Crane – Desirable) Culture & Benefits: If you are ready to step up to the challenges of this role, it can lead to greater opportunities for career growth and progression.
