Role details The team at the Sarina Hospital is seeking applications for a Medical Superintendent to join their team on a temporary part-time basis of 64 hrs p.f. Your opportunity To provide high quality clinical services and medical leadership, joining an existing team of senior medical officers and junior doctors. About the Team Sarina Hospital is located within the township of Sarina, 30 minutes-drive south of Mackay and services the wider community that extends east to coastal hamlets, south to St Lawrence and west into the hinterland. Sarina Hospital provides admitted and non-admitted services, with Inpatients, 24-hour Emergency Department, Outpatients Clinics and Community Services. The facility is newly built and fully utilises electronic medical records. Inpatient care is a mixture of acute and non-acute patients, and the emergency department has varied presentations. The medical team is made up of other Senior Medical Officers and PGY2 or PGY3 Residents. Sarina Hospital is accredited with the Australian College of Rural and Remote Medicine for core generalist training. It is essential that the successful applicant has or is able to obtain Specialist Registration with the Medical Board of Australia and holds a; Fellowship with the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners (FRACGP) or; Fellowship with the Australian College of Rural and Remote Medicine (FACRRM) Recent skills update in Emergency Medicine will be an advantage (e.g. EMST) The applicant must be able to demonstrate recent clinical practice relevant to the scope of this role, consistent with the Medical Board of Australia's registration standards Enrolment and maintenance of ongoing continuing Medical Education programs of RACGP/ACRRM The successful applicant must hold and maintain appropriate Scope of Clinical Practice (SoCP) relevant to the role, awarded by the Mackay Hospital and Health Service Credentialing and SoCP delegate Information presented for this application will be presented to the Medical Credentialing Committee.
