The key duties of the position include The Role Seeking an experienced, highly motivated Writer/Editor to work within Defence Flight Safety Bureau (DFSB), a directorate of Defence Aviation Safety Authority (DASA). As part of the Publishing and Multimedia team, you will: utilise writing and editing expertise to enhance safety military aviation safety identify opportunities to inform and educate the aviation community about Defence aviation safety assist in the development of communication and media products. There may be opportunities to develop basic design skills. Specific duties: Provide expert writing and editing support for the development of internal and external military aviation safety communication and media products. Research, analyse information and liaise with stakeholders and subject matter experts to identify opportunities for education and promotion of Defence aviation safety. Generate and edit high-quality, complex, targeted communication, including Defence aviation safety publications (ie Spotlight magazine), reports and web content. As part of a small team, deliver print and digital aviation safety campaigns. About our Team DASA is responsible for enhancing and promoting the safety of military aviation through the implementation of a Defence Aviation Safety Program that promotes a generative safety culture and independently assures the effective management of Defence aviation safety risks. DASA is a complex organisation consisting of headquarters elements and directorates providing aviation safety assurance and specialist engineering services to the Defence aviation community. The organisation has a strength of around 300 personnel, made up of ADF members and APS, and is physically located in Melbourne VIC, Canberra ACT, and Amberley QLD-though this role is located in only in ACT. DFSB is a directorate of DASA and is responsible for the provision of aviation safety promotion, research, education and independent accident investigation capabilities for the Defence aviation community. The Publishing and Multimedia team create, deliver and maintain communication products for DFSB.
