Description he opportunity We are excited to be seeking a Senior Project Engineer for our expanding delivery team to oversee a portfolio water and wastewater infrastructure projects, varied in scope and size. Our Senior Project Engineers build authentic relationships with stakeholders and provide technical guidance on project delivery. They are integral to the design, procurement, contract administration and claims processes, driving best possible outcomes whilst mentoring future talent across the program. This is a full-time permanent role based in Brisbane working out of our Mango Hill site office on Monday to Friday roster. You will be required to attend site visits across Morton Bay and Sunshine Coast region when in delivery phase. What you’ll do Provide technical advice to the Project Delivery and wider program teams Provide input to project controls reporting on project performance and progress Assist in the identification of potential hazardous site activities and ensure appropriate procedures and control are implemented Assist with the design process to ensure the timeliness of the completion of drawings approved for construction Undertake on-going 'fit for purpose' reviews to determine constructability of design Deliver projects as per the project management plans, drawings and specifications Ensure that “lessons learnt” during project completion are recorded and communicated to the wider team Assist in review of subcontract progress claims, extensions of time and variations Assist with negotiations of the purchasing and engagement of suppliers and subcontractors What we offer Employee benefits including health and wellness initiatives Access to Downer Group benefits Personalised career development and growth working with an industry leading team. Experience managing subcontractors, developing scope of works/subcontract agreements Demonstrated ability in financial management and reporting, including budgeting Demonstrated ability to develop and manage schedules Experience in driving quality outcomes in complex project delivery Experience managing direct reports Ability to build strong relationships with internal and external parties (Program teams, stakeholders etc) ‘About Energy & Utilities… Downer's Energy & Utilities business unit is an integrated trans-Tasman team, providing services and solutions that connect communities to essential networks and infrastructure.
