About the role: The Survey Officer (Animal Management) position improves the rates of dog registration within the Region, by conducting approved inspection programs. They also must maintain community amenity by assessing permit applications to ensure they are consistent with Council’s local laws and community expectations. The Survey Officer must also improve public safety by ensuring regulated dogs are being kept in accordance with the conditions provided by the Animal Management (Cats and Dogs) Act 2008 and Isaac Regional Council Local Law 1 (Administration) 2011 and Isaac Regional Council Local Law 2 (Animal Management) 2011in relation to the keeping of dogs. Safely capture and impound animals, handle animals and be able to work in environments that animals frequent. 2. Perform any other animal management duties that are reasonably within the competency, skills and training. Experience 1. Experience working with and handling a variety of animals. 2. Ability to formulate concise and accurate written reports and correspondence. 3. Experience in navigating and interpreting State legislation and local laws is desirable.
