At Pet Emergency, our emergency and critical care team handle a diverse and stimulating caseload, with 24/7 support from our specialist teams. The Role As an Emergency Veterinarian Nurse Team Leader, you will play a pivotal role in leading by example. You will support our Sunshine Coast team through emergency cases, coordinate patient care across wards, and work closely with specialists to ensure smooth clinical operations. Our Team Leaders have a combination of clinical excellence and compassion. If your leadership style is mentoring our nurse team. You will act as a key liaison for client communication, delivering clear advice and reassurance to pet owners during critical moments. Your leadership style will foster mentorship, teamwork, and a positive, collaborative environment for our nurses. Key Responsibilities: Support the daily operations of the department by coordinating nursing rosters, triaging tasks, and ensuring patients receive gold standard care Act as an immediate point of support for nurses and clinicians, offering real-time problem-solving and guidance to ensure smooth workflow Provide on-the-ground mentoring, training, and leadership to the nursing team, while assisting with onboarding and delivering a structured induction program Serve as the first point of contact for nursing concerns, sick leave, and grievances, escalating as needed and collaborating with the Nurse Manager to resolve issues Contribute to the development and communication of clinic protocols, support learning and development initiatives, and assist with equipment and supply management Assist in performance reviews, support recruitment processes, and maintain strong communication within the team through regular meetings and updates Flexibility to work a rotating roster (mornings, afternoons, evenings, and overnights) and occasionally across our hospitals : Sunshine Coast, Northlakes and Stafford. Requirements of the Role: Bachelor of Veterinary Technology or Cert IV in Veterinary Nursing Proven ability to lead and manager a small-medium sized team 5-10 Minimum 2-5 years’ experience as a Veterinary Nurse.
