Description About the Role The successful applicant will join a team of pipeline industry experts, who beyond delivering complex pipeline projects, are heavily involved in Australian pipeline standards and industry research projects through the FFCRC and serve as lead authors on industry guidance documents like the Hydrogen Pipelines Code of Practice. GPA is a leading contributor across Australia in pipeline sector standards development, research and knowledge development. We have multiple personnel directly involved in ME-038 (AS/NZS 2885 series) committees, GIRA research (and formerly EPCRC and FFCRC research), APGA Research & Standards Executive and Main Committee. GPA has led the way in development of codes of practice and research in hydrogen pipeline design in Australia and continues to target leading edge knowledge development across our sectors. We are involved directly in novel engineering projects across the pipeline and energy sector, including hydrogen, future fuels, ammonia, CO 2 , SAF, MCH, biomethane and biofuels. As a result of continuous long-term stable company growth, GPA is seeking applications for Senior/ Mechanical Pipeline Engineers , with 3-5 and 6-12 years of relevant pipeline experience to join our national team. Depending on the level of experience against the required and desirable skills and leadership qualities, the applicant may suit an engineer, senior or lead engineer role. This is a permanent, full-time role, based in our Adelaide office. In this role, you will : Work across the full project life cycle including concept, feasibility, FEED, Detailed Design and Construction Support. Work on a variety of pipeline projects including long distance remote or rural pipelines, high pressure pipelines in urban or industrial high consequence areas, upstream gathering systems, and pipeline facilities such as pressure reduction, metering, pigging, processing and compression facilities. Prepare technical calculations in accordance with AS/NZS 2885 and other relevant standards. Prepare datasheets and specifications for the procurement of equipment and components required for pipelines and facilities. Prepare, review and oversee the delivery of engineering drawings for fabrication and construction in collaboration with our in-house drafting office. Manage various subconsultants and subcontractors. Undertake stress analysis of pipelines and facility piping in accordance to ASME B31.3 and ASME B31.4 using Caesar II software. Collaborate with and coordinate other engineering disciplines including process, civil, structural, electrical, instrumentation and control systems. Attend and assist with the minuting of design review workshops including Safety Management Studies, HAZOP Studies. Resolve design issues, anomalies, and technical challenges in collaboration with internal and external stakeholders. Skills And Experiences To be successful in this role, we are seeking for candidates with the following relevant skills and experience: Experience with alternate fuels and fluids beyond hydrocarbons is valued, including Hydrogen/CO2/Ammonia. However we have a wide range of opportunities and value training and sharing our knowledge to applicants once at GPA. Experience in pipeline facility design and equipment/piping design, including launcher/receivers, MLVs, compressor stations, PRSM facilities, city gate stations, facility/station piping design and broader oil and gas wellhead, gathering and processing facilities and fuel terminals. Chartered status (and RPEQ/RPEV) especially for candidates 6-12 years. Knowledge of cathodic protection systems and experience overseeing electrical interference studies and cathodic protection design by others SMS facilitation experience also valued, as is an interest in developing this skill.
