Make a difference in the future of Queensland's agricultural industry and the Great Barrier Reef by joining the Reef Compliance and Regulation team as a Principal Agricultural Officer (Environment). Lead a collaborative, empowered team working closely with producers, industry partners, and local communities to drive positive change. Through constructive engagement, practical support, and the enforcement of regulated farm practice standards, our team plays a vital role in working with producers to reduce sediment and nutrient run-off, improve water quality, and promote sustainable farming practices across the Great Barrier Reef catchment. In this role, you will lead and inspire a dedicated team of professionals who work directly with agricultural producers to ensure minimum practice farm management and support the adoption of best-practice farm management. You'll oversee farm visits to conduct compliance inspections and permit assessments, provide practical guidance to help producers understand and achieve the regulated practice standards, and contribute to solving complex environmental challenges. Whether in the field or the office, your work will be focused on creating constructive partnerships and fostering a shared commitment to sustainable land management. By working with producers and industry stakeholders, you'll help identify opportunities for collaboration and continuous improvement. This role is not only about regulatory oversight but also about building trust, influencing positive behaviours, and driving real, lasting solutions that balance agricultural productivity with environmental, social, and community outcomes. We're seeking a passionate leader and team player ready to make a positive difference for Queensland's farming communities and iconic ecosystems. If you have strong communication, problem-solving skills, and a natural ability to build relationships, this role will allow you to thrive while helping to shape sustainable future practices that benefit our state's agriculture and environment.
