This position is based in Brisbane CBD and flexible work arrangements can be considered upon application, including working remotely at a regional QBCC office, subject to availability. If working from a regional office, travel to the Brisbane office may be required. About the role: In this role you will play a crucial part in initiating and verifying the suitability of corrective and preventative action to eliminate existing or potential harm, developing and embedding frameworks to assess risks. You will mitigate non-compliance within mechanical activities and ensure preventative action where required to ensure defensibility for the Queensland Building and Construction Commission safeguarding the QBCC's mechanical practices in accordance with the relevant codes, Australian Standards, legislation and regulation. Key responsibilities include: Providing advice and mediating between contractors and consumers to resolve disputes relating to mechanical building works and providing recommendations once inspection and test procedures have been conducted. Providing expert technical advice to consumers, internal customers, stakeholders and industry groups relating to mechanical services work. Responding to complaints, analysing and preparing mechanical technical reports to ensure the QBCC is risk-free and defensible. Reviewing mechanical policy and procedures and applying a continuous improvement lens across policies to ensure fit for purpose against mechanical legislation and contractual matters.
