Your new opportunityIn the role you will be part of Treasury's Corporate and Executive Services Group, providing essential financial services to the department and Whole of Government. As a Principal Accountant, Budget and Performance Management, you will lead and empower a skilled team to deliver critical budgetary and performance monitoring services.You will prepare key funding submissions, departmental Budget Papers, and budgetary briefs for estimate hearings, while providing expert advice on financial management matters. Working closely with stakeholders, you'll play a pivotal role in influencing our budget and performance strategy. In this role, you will:- Provide leadership to the team in providing professional financial advice to internal and external stakeholders on budgetary and financial management matters.- Prepare funding submissions, department Budget Papers, and detailed budgetary briefs for estimate hearings.- Oversee the preparation of management reports and other customised financial reports.- Drive ongoing improvements in budgetary quality and strategic decision-making processes.- Build and maintain strong and collaborative partnerships with key stakeholders.- Work within a productive, motivated team that strives to deliver high-quality financial services.
