Roster: Monday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday & Sunday each week Shift Times: 10:00 - 18:06 Role Summary: The Cook is responsible for delivering high-quality meals tailored to residents' dietary needs, preferences, and health requirements. Reporting to the Chef, the role involves preparing nutritious and delicious meals while maintaining compliance with Aged Care Quality Standards and regulatory requirements. Key Responsibilities: Prepare and cook a variety of meals, including main dishes, soups, sandwiches, salads, and AM/PM teas, in line with the menu. Apply basic cooking methods such as baking, frying and steaming. Prepare and serve nutritious, appetizing meals that meet the dietary needs of our residents. Engage with residents to understand and cater to their individual dietary preferences and requirements. Manage special diets, including texture-modified meals, following best-practice standards. Participate in menu planning to ensure meals align with the Australian dietary guidelines for older adults. Ensure strict compliance with HACCP food safety standards and all relevant regulatory requirements. Collaborate effectively with the catering team to deliver safe, consistent and high-quality food services. Maintain a clean and hygienic work area at all times. Monitor and manage food costs to ensure operations remain within budget. What you'll bring: Certificate III in Commercial Cookery (desirable but not essential). Ability to work collaboratively with the team and engage positively with residents. Compassion and Empathy. Unlimited working rights in Australia - MANDATORY. Hospitality experience in an Aged Care setting or fast-paced environment. Excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills.
