Description Fine Chemicals Corporation requires the services of a highly competent and experienced Instrument Technician for our Engineering Department. Requirements Overview The Instrument Technician plays a critical role in supporting the manufacturing operations at FCC by ensuring instruments, electronic systems and control systems Operational Technology- OT) are properly installed, maintained and upgraded in compliance with regulatory and company standards. This position involves both technical, supervisory and administrative responsibilities across various engineering activities. Responsibilities Ensure instrumentation, electronic devices and general electrical equipment are maintained to a high standard of operation, reliability and safety. Maintain (including calibration) of control and automation systems (Operation Technology - OT) and instruments as per EMS program and GxP requirement. Ensure full compliance and execution of the company’s maintenance programs, policies and procedures on all designated work. Set up and change OT as agreed with production or engineering. Co-ordination of relevant contractors and consultants for OT related breakdowns, maintenance and projects. Available for afterhours standby schedule for control and automation systems and instrument breakdowns and be available to respond to call-out timeously. Liaise with Aspen Group (GDT) regarding OT system maintenance, validation and projects. On a continuous basis, conduct upgrades and improvements on OT and related systems, to eliminate downtime, improve efficiency and prevent obsolescence. Perform relevant administrative functions. Skills Required Background/Experience A formal trade certificate as an Instrument Mech / Tech N6 electrical engineering or equivalent (N Dip/ B-Tech in Electrical/Electronic Engineering). 3 years’ experience in manufacturing environment, preferably in Pharmaceutical, Chemical or FMCG industries. Experience of working in hazardous areas (Atex) would be advantageous. Experience with ABB 800xA system and SAP In2Rep would be advantageous.
