Senior Structures Estimator – Major Infrastructure Projects Our client, a leading national contractor delivering high-profile transport and civil infrastructure, is seeking a Senior Structures Estimator to join their growing pre-contracts team in Melbourne. This role contributes directly to major bids across Australia by developing accurate cost models for complex structural works. You will be responsible for estimating bridges, retaining structures, water assets, and associated civil elements for multi-million-dollar tenders. Working closely with engineering, planning and delivery specialists, you’ll help shape competitive pricing strategies and ensure tender submissions reflect realistic methodologies and construction sequencing. Duties: • Analyse drawings, specifications, and construction methodologies to prepare detailed structural estimates • Build first-principles pricing for labour, materials, plant and subcontract elements • Develop quantities, productivity rates, benchmarks and supporting cost data • Prepare and issue RFQs, assess subcontractor and supplier submissions • Collaborate with bid teams to align program, methodology, staging and pricing • Identify risks, opportunities, value-engineering options, and commercial considerations • Provide guidance to junior estimators and contribute to estimating process improvements Requirements • Background in civil or structural estimating, ideally 7–10 years • Experience with major infrastructure projects (bridges, retaining walls, water structures) • Strong technical understanding of civil/structural methodologies • Proficient in Australian estimating systems (CATS, Expert Estimation, Candy) • Comfortable using digital take-off tools (CostX, Bluebeam, Planswift) • Tertiary qualification in Engineering, Construction, QS or equivalent • Strong analytical, commercial and problem-solving capability Benefits • Competitive salary package • National pipeline of landmark projects • Long-term career development within a major contractor • Supportive workplace culture with strong technical capability • Additional wellbeing and paid leave benefits How to Apply: Please email your resume to recruitment@multiculturalconsulting.com.au For further enquiries, call 0481 758 017
