Description The Opportunity: Kent are looking for experienced Mechanical Fitter to join our high performing team on Shell's QGC business in the Surat Basin! This is an ideal role for residents of the local area or who reside in Brisbane. The work roster is 15 days on 13 days off, 10 hours per day. Responsibilities: Execute assembling structural steel and fitting tasks on mechanical systems and plant equipment, safely and effectively as directed by COMPANY’s Project Construction supervisor /Construction management Team. Creating work orders as required of defects found. Flange management Inspect, test, adjust and repair equipment to satisfy appropriate Governing Standards. Work within OEM guidelines Execute assembling and fitting activities to ensure the highest standards in reliability and availability are achieved. Maintain records and databases for site specific equipment and systems. Ensure compliance to manufacturers guidelines, maintenance agreements and warrantees. Participate in equipment performance checks. Active involvement in hazard hunts to identify potential hazards in the work place. Participate in RCA Work within company HSSE & SP Framework Minimum competencies - flange management, assemble structural steel and fitting tasks on mechanical systems and plant equipment. About You: Our ideal candidate is a Cert III–qualified Mechanical Tradesperson who brings a hands-on, solutions-focused approach to their work. You’ll be confident diagnosing and troubleshooting mechanical issues and have at least two years’ experience within the oil and gas sector or a comparable heavy-industry environment. You’ll be comfortable working in brownfields construction settings, assembling structural steel, and completing a range of fitting tasks across mechanical systems and plant equipment. You’ll also hold the minimum required competencies, including flange management, and be adept at interpreting construction drawings to deliver accurate, high-quality work.
