Position Description Business Development Manager (RTO) Position Title: Business Development Manager Employment Type: [Full-Time / Part-Time / Contract] Location: Wide Bay base, service area from Curra to Bundaberg Reports to: Operations Manager Award Classification: Educational Services (Post-Secondary Education) Award Salary: $80k base, plus car, phone, expense card Requirements Key Responsibilities 1. Business Development & Sales Identify and pursue new business opportunities to grow enrolments and partnerships. Generate leads and convert them into enrolments through targeted campaigns and outreach. Develop and maintain a pipeline of schools, employers, and industry contacts. Attend industry events, expos, and networking functions to promote RTO services. 2. Relationship Management Build and maintain relationships with schools, employment providers, job actives, and industry partners. Act as the primary liaison between the RTO and key stakeholders. Provide tailored training solutions based on client and industry needs. 3. Strategic Planning & Reporting Contribute to the development and execution of business development strategies. Analyse market trends and competitor activity to inform future growth areas. Report on KPIs, leads, conversion rates, and partnership outcomes to management. 4. Compliance & Promotion Ensure all marketing and business development activities are compliant with ASQA and government funding body requirements. Promote training products accurately and ethically, adhering to the Standards for RTOs. Assist in the preparation of promotional materials and campaigns. Key Selection Criteria Essential: Proven experience in business development, sales or stakeholder engagement within the VET sector. Strong understanding of RTO operations, funding models (e.g., VETiS, Certificate 3 Guarantee, User Choice), and compliance frameworks. Excellent communication and negotiation skills. Strong organisational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Current driver’s licence and willingness to travel. Desirable: Experience working with regional communities, schools, or employment service providers. Understanding of CRM systems (e.g., Zoho, Salesforce). Certificate IV in Training & Assessment (TAE40122 or equivalent) or willingness to obtain. Performance Measures Monthly and quarterly enrolment targets achieved. Number and quality of partnerships established or maintained. Lead-to-enrolment conversion rate. Stakeholder satisfaction and engagement metrics. Compliance with all marketing and client communication requirements.
